The Awake Advertiser Project: Week 2

Last week our Awake Advertiser was the Campbell's Soup Company and we got a great response for our first week of this project. Hopefully, we can grow from last week of the project and get to be known.

The Awake Advertiser Project is a project to let advertisers, NBC, fans, and the rest of the world about the fan dedication of Awake. Every week during the episode (Thursdays on NBC at 10/9c) we tweet a certain advertiser and thank them for advertising on the show.

This week's advertiser is Chevrolet. If you paid really close attention to the episode, you would have seen that Chevrolet paid for product placement in the show. When an advertiser pays for product placement, they deserve a LOT of appreciation.
So tomorrow, get on to Twitter on the night of the show, and tweet @Chevrolet thanking them for advertising on Awake and how it has improved your opinion of them. Be sure that when you are tweeting them, use the hashtag #AwakeAdvertiser, and do NOT just retweet a tweet to them. Writing your own tweet to them does MUCH more.

Advertiser of the Week Project

As most of you may know, advertisers are the #1 factor in a show's future. If advertisers hadn't paid to advertise during Awake it wouldn't be on TV. Why don't we take that fact and show the companies who pay NBC to advertise during Awake how much we appreciate them keeping the show on air. They are solely the reason that Awake even exists! Each week, I will pick out an "Advertiser of the Week" and on the Thursday of that week, we will tweet them, buy from them, and show them that we are out there and that we appreciate what they are doing.

When we are tweeting them, be sure to thank them for advertising on Awake and that you bought their product since they advertised. When tweeting them use the hashtag #AwakeAdvertiser. This is important! By using the same hashtag, we can be tracked by the companies and NBC much easier.

For this week, our "Advertiser of the Week" is Campbell's Soup. On Thursday night, go on to Twitter and tweet @CampbellSoupCo using the hashtag #AwakeAdvertiser. And don't just retweet other's tweets to @CampbellSoupCo, they aren't counted as much as a personally written tweet. Hopefully, we can get the attention of our advertisers and let them know that they are appreciated!

Support Awake by Voting!

In order for Awake to get a 2nd season, there needs to be a lot of viewers. That's a given. Two ways networks can do this is to keep current viewers watching, and get new viewers. Getting new viewers can cost a lot for networks, though. If we, the fans, can give the show something to stand on, people will give it a chance and watch it. That's where this tournament comes in. BuzzFocus.com has had a "Spring Madness Tournament" along with the NCAA March Madness Tournament, but the competitions are between TV shows. The show with more votes goes onto the next round.

This week, Awake is going up against Sons of Anarchy from the FX. Also this week, FX tweeted and told their followers to vote for Sons of Anarchy. That brought a 48%-52% competition to a 18%-82% competition. That one tweet by the FX really changed a LOT. If we can get NBC to indirectly advertise for the show by tweeting to tell its fans to vote for Awake, it will take the first round. NBC won't know though, if they don't know about it. If we all tweet them (@NBC) to ask them to give the vote a shout-out, they will probably retweet it. They have nothing to lose. Be sure to use the hashtag #Awake, use the hashtag #BFSpringMadness, and be polite. And don't just stop at NBC, see if any high-up fans, actors, and writers will retweet you too.

To vote, yourself, go to the BuzzFocus 2nd Annual Spring Madness Tournament and vote on every computer and browser you have.

Watch the Awake Pilot Here and Now

Last Thursday, NBC released the pilot of Awake two weeks before it premieres on March 1st. NBC has been really generous with us, giving us the first seven minutes of the pilot the week before, and releasing the pilot this week. The pilot is viewable on YouTube, on NBC.com/Awake, and for free to download on iTunes. Now I'm not going to make you go to YouTube to watch the pilot. You are going to be able to watch the pilot right here, right now. If you don't want to spoil it, and you just want to get a peek at the pilot, take a look at the first seven minutes of Awake's pilot.

And here, for all of you, is the official pilot for Awake. Enjoy!

Get Awake Trending on Twitter

As most of you may know, Awake premieres March 1st at 10/9c in the United States. The premiere is always a perfect time to show the producers and network how much we love our show. To do that, we are going to get hashtag #Awake trending that night. By doing that, it will show up on the "Trending Now" box, and is also a prime opportunity to get new/more fans.

If you do not have a Twitter, I would recommend trying it.
If you do have a Twitter, be sure to follow me @AwakeFanCentral.

Awake's Premiere Date

NBC has announced this week that Awake now has a premiere date. It will air on Thursday, March 1st at 10/9c, taking The Firm's old spot. The Firm has been shipped off to no-man's land on Saturday night where it will die after already having atrocious ratings. Until then, you can enjoy reruns of Grimm on Thursday nights.
Us, the fans, are going to unite and show our love for the show on the night of the premiere (March 1st) and get #Awake trending on Twitter. And if you haven't yet, follow me on Twitter @AwakeFanCentral and on Facebook at "Awake Fan Central".

NBC Confirms Episode Count

NBC has recently confirmed that they have ordered 13 episodes of Awake. This, however, is not the final count if NBC would choose to order it for a "back 12" (midseason renewal). This means that we are one step closer to getting a premiere date out. I will be on close lookout these next two weeks and will let you all know the instant I find out.
